Glennville,
Mr. Stanley J. Swain , age 73, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. The Bacon County native had lived in Glennville most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from Fort Stewart Civil Service as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in fire trucks. Stanley’s hobbies included rebuilding ford mustangs, coin collecting and gardening. He attended Gospel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, M.B. and Ida Mae Swain; daughter, Tammara Swain; brothers, Donald and Larry Swain.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Swain of Glennville; children, Pamela Swain and Keith Stanley(LizAnn) Swain all of Glennville; brothers, Terry (Missy) Mathews of Alma and Roy (Miriam) Swain of Smyrna; sister, Judy Rhodes of James Island, SC; grandchildren, Keith Benjamin Swain, Chloe Anna Marie Swain, Rhett Butler, and Natasha Cribbs; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Monday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation Services and Burial with the Reverends Mike Gay and Richard Kemp officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Driggers, Cliff Conley, Alan Sapp, Trevor Mathews, Jason Johnson, Jeremy Kemp, Travis Johnson, Brody Mathews, and Wendell Johnson.
Memorials may be given to Gospel Baptist Church or Tattnall CARES.
