Reidsville GA
Steven Vann, Jr, age 41, passed away on January 22, 2021 at his home. The native of Auburndale Florida lived most of his life in Florida, moving to Reidsville in 2016. Steven, known as “Vann” to his family and friends, graduated in 1997 from Auburndale Senior High. Following graduation, he went on to get his degree in welding at Brevard Community College. Welding truly was his professional passion. Fabricating functional parts from nothing; plying a trade that he loved to provide for his family brought him immense joy. His career would have him join a brotherhood of skilled craftsmen, the IBEW local 1579 in Augusta. This “work family” would come to be closer to him than many blood relatives. Although he loved his labors; he certainly knew how to have fun. In his free time Vann loved anything that came with a remote control, especially gas-powered RC cars and drones. Countless hours would be spent at local parks flying the perimeter surveying not only the scenery but the activities as well. In as much as he loved his work and his hobbies, none could bring greater joy than the time that he spent with his wife, kids, and grandkids. Although a formidable man in stature, he melted like a teddy bear around his loving family. A dedicated man in both deed and action, a devote provider for his family, and a delightful disposition to all who met him; Vann will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his sister, April Bunds; his chosen father, Thomas Kent; and his maternal grandparents.
Left to reminisce on the happier times of life are his soul mate of over 21 years, wife Lisa Vann of Reidsville; two sons, Steven Vann III and Thomas Lee Vann of Reidsville; three daughters, Haley ReAnn Vann of Reidsville, Courtney Messer of Reidsville, and Brittany Hasty of Lake City FL; four grandchildren, Kaia Hasty, Waylon Hasty, Ivey Hasty, and Saige Williams; mother, Lori Bunds of Auburndale FL; father, Steven Vann Sr. of Arizona; one sister, Krystal Bunds of Colorado; five nieces and six nephews; numerous friends and work family also survives.
