Steven Anthony Willis, affectionately known as "Stevo," passed away Sunday April 23, 2023, at the age of 31. Born on December 4th, 1991, in Twin City, Steven was the son of the late pastor James Willis and Mrs. Virginia Willis. Steven had a deep-rooted pride for his hometown, which was evident in his bulldog pride that extended beyond the county line. He carried the Willis name with honor and always held his family close to his heart.
Steven enjoyed the simple things in life, like hunting, fishing, and cruising down dirt roads with the windows down. He was an avid guitar player and loved to pick classic country tunes. Steven was also someone who cherished spending time with his friends and loved ones. He had a deep love for his grandfather, Hank, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the good Lord, and a good time. Even in the darkest of days, Steven found joy in life, and it is hoped that he will always be remembered for his positive outlook. Steven's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Crystal Willis, and his maternal grandparents/parents, James and Virginia Willis.
He is survived by his sister, Jennifer Smith, and his beloved nephew, David Rowland of Lyons. He is also survived by great aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him deeply. Additionally, Steven had many dear friends who will mourn his passing, including Lora Butler, Brandon Moxley, Jen West, "Bit", and the long-lost "BTD" crew of ECI. He also had an unbiological sister, Vivian Crawford (Rusty), of Blackshear, who loved him like family.
Steven will be laid to rest in the Old Canoochee Cemetery (located in Emanuel County), in the family plot on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
Low Country Cremation & Burial is serving the Willis.
