Mr. Stoney Hopkins, son of the late Rosabell Hopkins and Isaac Hunt, was born May 29, 1962.
He was born in Lyons, Ga. He later in life moved to Reidsville, Ga. He was employed at IGA for twenty
plus years. Stoney had the warmest smile that was unforgettable. He grew to have many friends and
anytime you would see him around town he would always meet you with a hello and the biggest
smile. Stoney was a man of God. He loved God with all his heart and he loved talking about his
relationship with God. He loved to sing praise and worship songs. One of his favorites was “I go to
the rock” where he loved to sing it at Reidsville Church of God where he attended.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: A devoted wife, Francine Hopkins of Reidsville, GA; one
daughter Christina (WIlliam) Buckner of Reidsville, GA;mother-n-law, the late Linda Bell; father-n-law,
Gary Bell of Glennville, GA; two brother-in-laws: Delwin Bell of Richmond Virginia, Ron Bacon of
Midway, GA; two sisters and one brother: Rosamae (stephen) Sharpe of Lyons, GA; Evajean Hopkins
of Lyons, GA; and James Hopkins of Lyons, GA;One niece and three nephews: Keisha White of
Pooler, GA; Stephen Sharpe of Vidalia,GA; Brandon Sharpe of Texas and the late Darrien Hopkins;
two aunts: Gusamae of Milledgeville, GA; and Roma Knight of Lyons, GA. Two beloved Godmothers:
Anna Thomas of Lyons, GA.; and Val of Reidsville, Ga; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, December 11, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial with Rev. William Prince officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
