Sylvia D. Hernandez , age 59, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.  The Chicago native had lived in Glennville most of her life.  She was a homemaker that loved to crochet and knit.  She also loved to go dancing and socializing.  She was the spokesperson for the Migrants in the Glennville area.  Sylvia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Faustino Hernandez, Sr. of Glennville; mother, Marta Doniaz of Florida; children, Martina (Jeremy) Wheeler of New Mexico, Jose “JoJo” Sanchez of Glennville, Faustino Hernandez, Jr. of Glennville, Ray Solomon Hernandez of Glennville, Patricia (Victor) Blandon of Arizona, and Mariano Hernandez of Glennville; siblings, Jose Doniaz of Texas, Yolando Rodriquez of Texas, Pedro Doniaz, Jr. of North Carolina, Delia D. Vasquez of Florida, Martin Doniaz of Florida, Elizabeth Delatorre of Texas, Benito Doniaz of Texas, and Hermelinda V. Doniaz of Florida; grandchildren, Maria Guadalupe Garcia, Ray Solomon Hernandez, Jr., Megan Olivia Padgett, Mya Gail Padgett, Aizza Alejandra Nevarez, Sophia Patricia Blandon, and Thomas Imanuel Blandon; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, July 28, 2017 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with the funeral services to begin at 12:00pm.  Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jose Sanchez, Ray Hernandez, Mariano Hernandez, Victor Blandon, Faustino Hernandez, Jr., and Alfredo Hernandez, Jr.
