Thomas J. Heran, 81 passed away peacefully on July 20, 2014 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, GA. Born to Hubert and Florence Heran on March 7, 1933 in Trenton, New Jersey. Tom served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, receiving several accommodations. He moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where he worked for the Palm Beach Post in the advertising department. He was promoted to editor and publisher of the Belle Glade Herald and then became publisher of the Leesburg Daily Commercial. After his newspaper career, Tom served as Vice-President of Marketing for Fidelity Federal in West Palm Beach Florida before operating his own advertising and marketing firm for over 12 years. Upon retirement, Tom lived in Lakeland, Florida for several years before moving to Young Harris Georgia. His last year was spent in Warner Robins, Georgia to be close to his daughter. He enjoyed traveling, photography, playing golf, singing and was a talented storyteller. He loved to make people laugh. Tom is preceded in death by his daughter, Ginger L. Heran, two brothers and three sisters;
He is survived by his companion, Joyce Hughes of Young Harris, GA; daughter, Christy L. (Allan) Shaw of Warner Robins, GA; son, Sean T. (Nicole) Heran of West Palm Beach, Florida; daughter, Holly A. Blum of Ft. Myers, Florida; 6 grandchildren, Hunter, Mackenzie, Lilly, Ryan, Robin and Heather. The family has scheduled a private memorial to be held at a future date.
