Thomas James Weidow
Thomas J. Weidow 54, of Homerville, GA passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, surrounded by his family. Thomas was born July 9,1969 in Salem, OH to Linda (Barnes) Prendergast of Alliance, OH and the late Thomas W. Weidow.
Thomas loved being a truck driver for 20+ years of his life, very passionate for all animals especially for the ones that showed up on his doorstep. He loved anything with a motor and enjoyed taking "Little Red" and "Old Girl" to the car shows, where he won several trophies. He was always giving out a helping hand to others who seem to really need it, he strived everyday to do at least one good deed each day. His saying was, "I know nothing but a little bit of something."
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Renee Weidow, whom he married August 11, 2001; his children, a son James Weidow of the home, a daughter Lacie Weidow of Alliance, OH, stepson Brennan Kannal of Canton, OH; a brother Timothy (Carrie) Weidow of Cape Coral, Florida: a sister Kimberly Weidow of Carrollton, OH; a mother-in-law Carla Brittain of Massillon, OH; 3 brother-in-laws Marc (Lori) Brittain of Massillon, OH, Donnie (Mary) Brittain of Massillon, OH, Terry (Dolores) Brittain of Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 sister-in-laws Andrea (Ron) Catazaro of Massillon, OH and Maryellen (Cy) Sample of Massillon, OH; nieces and nephews Steffanee, Frank, Kylen, Ashleigh, Cameron, Kimberlynn, Myah, Sam, Kaity, Terry Lee, Marcus, Emily, Joe and Liz; great nieces and nephews Jaeyla, Jemison, Kya, Raya, Carter, Ryder, Dean, Rosie and Paisley; a brother from another mother Rafeal Newsome and the bonus kids of Homerville, Ga. Which he will be truly missed by all.
Thomas is preceded in death by a sister Angie Weidow, his father, his father-in-law Donald Brittain, an uncle Donald Barnes and his beloved dogs Nitro, Takara, and Little Bear and beloved cat Little Bit.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of South Georgia Medical Center of Valdosta, Ga and the staff of Valdosta Family Medicine Associates for their compassionate care for Thomas.
Thomas would always grow his hair out and donate it to make wigs for children with cancer. Since there will be no services, memorial contributions can be made to Wigs for Kids. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
