Tom Tracy Merritt, Sr.

Tom Tracy Merritt, age 51, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.  He was born August 29, 1968 in Claxton to Ozzie and Irene Merritt and had lived in Tattnall County most of his life.  He had worked at Collins Mobile Homes for several years and enjoyed fishing and being around his family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Tom is survived by his children, Tom Merritt, Jr. and Ashley Russo both of Collins; Lea Jarriel, whom he thought of as a daughter; companion, Santina Lucas of Portal; siblings, Ozzie (Alicia) Merritt of Reidsville and Loreine Goodson of Reidsville; grandchildren, Miles and Milo Braddy; mother of his children, Carla Russo of Collins; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Friday, July 3, 2020 at the funeral home with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm.

The family will gather at Ozzie Merritt’s home at 278 Arley Bo Willis Rd in Reidsville after the service.
