Claxton/ Glennville,
Anthony W. “Tony” Stubbs, age 68, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah. The Evans County native had lived in Glennville and Claxton most of his life. He was an US Marine Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver and was a cowboy. Tony loved his family, horses and watching old western movies. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold McDrawn Stubbs and Vera Groover Stubbs Nagle;
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Stubbs of Claxton, daughters, Elizabeth Nettles (Tim Bolen) and Tonya (Ben) Bolen all of Portal; brother, Jim (Patricia) Stubbs of Minnesota; sister, Eileen Stubbs of Glennville; grandchildren, Robert Bolen, Jamie Bolen, Jennifer Stubbs and Ben Bolen; three step children, several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Thursday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, May 15, 2015 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation Services and Burial with the Reverend James Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ben Bolen, Tim Bolen, Dannie Tatum, Adam Cushman, John Hamilton, and Bofrey Wildes.
