Collins,
Tony Weathers, age 79, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Glenvue Health & Rehab Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Claxton most of his life. He graduated from Claxton High School and served three years in the US Army. He was a RCA Contractor with the Army, worked with Glenn Sikes TV Repair and retired from Civil Service in Warner Robbins. Tony enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Weathers of Collins; son, Tony Douglas Weathers of CO; daughter, Debra K. Smith of Jacksonville, FL; step-children, Robert Sikes, Mary Floye Barrow, and Cynthia Sikes all of Claxton, Carol Sue Kersey of Collins, Dorothy Brooks of Folkston, Judy Fulton of Nevils and Kathleen Scanlon of Arizonia; grandchild, Parker Weathers; two great grandchildren.
Memorial funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Saturday November 1, 2014 from the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the Reverend Jim Rogers officiating. Interment will be private.
