Claxton,
Mr. Troy Garland Cribbs, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 19, 2014. The Evans County native was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Claxton, member and past master of Ezel Lodge #335, 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Alee Temple of Savannah. He retired from the Claxton Bakery serving as an accountant for 43 years. He served for seven years in the Army Reserve. Mr. Garland is remembered for his Post Office Banks of which he was a master Woodworker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Elder Gilbert Cribbs and a brother, Edgar Cribbs.
Surviving are his wife and High School Sweetheart, Cecile Kennedy Cribbs of Claxton; daughter, Kathryn (Tonn) Sutton of Claxton; granddaughters, Kayse (Blake) Hodges of Claxton, Lauren (Darryl) Perry of Waldorf, MD; great grandson, Jake Perry of MD; step mother, Versie Cribbs, and a sister-in-law, Nell Cribbs.
A family graveside service will be conducted 10:00am Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Brewton Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Services will follow at 11:00am Monday from the First United Methodist Church of Claxton with Dr. Tab Smith officiating.
Remembrances may be given to First United Methodist Church of Claxton or Ogeechee Area Hospice, PO Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30458.
