Reidsville GA,
Viouttle Mincey, age 81, entered eternal rest on July 5, 2019 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Living most of her life in Tattnall County, she was known far and wide as a person that would always be there for you in a time of need. Perhaps her love for helping people is what led her to serve the community at Tattnall Nursing Home and as a private caregiver for more than 50 years. Viouttle’s motto was that her “door was always open to help”. Indeed, the community responded to that open door and she aided countless people along the way, serving hearty meals and offering shelter during the storm for many individuals. Her family recalls that after the death of her first husband; even as a widow, she gave of herself to help others. Her draw was so strong that Cephus Mincey, was called from Tampa Florida to seek her guidance, help, and care. Over time, a strong emotional bond was established and the two wed. They moved, for a period, to Tampa Florida before returning “home” to Reidsville. Known to be one of the kindest and most loving souls around, she will leave a void that no one can replace. Viouttle is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Rachel Carson; husband, Cephus Mincey; a daughter, Miranda Smith Tootle; and three sisters.
Left to mourn the Earthly loss are her sons, Duke Henry Smith, Jr. of Reidsville and Don Smith of Atlanta; 4 daughters, Jewel Smith, Devorial Matthews, Sharon Smith all of Reidsville, and Cheryl Mincey of Jesup; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one niece, Renaee Bacon and one nephew, Jeffrey Bacon both of Reidsville; numerous other relatives and friends she has made along the way also survives.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial. Funeral services are to be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Bethel AME Church in Reidsville with Rev. Artis Carswell and Rev. Roy Summerset sharing God's love.
