Mr. Spires was born June 17,1936, and passed away August 4, 2014.
He was born in Killian SC to John Leadford and Annie Mae Faust Spires. He is survived by his wife, Kim Parsons of Savannah; daughter, Rose Anne Spires (Gerald) Johnson of Columbia, SC; son, Walter Winefred Spires, Jr. who resides in North Dakota; sister, Evelyn Simpkins; brother, John Leadford Jr. (Linda) Spires; one granddaughter, Karlee Christin Spires and great grandchild, Selena Rose, both of Columbia SC.
Mr. Spires will be cremated, per his wishes. A life celebration will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Savannah for their compassionate care.
John 14.1 "do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me". "Please, don't forget to save a room for us, dear Daddy, we will be Home soon".
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
