Glennville,
Mr. Wayne A. Anthony, age 69, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC after a battle with Covid. He was born on June 2, 1952 in Savannah to Arthur and Elease Purcell Anthony. He had lived in Chatham County most of his life before moving to Glennville six years ago. He was an US Navy Veteran that had served in the Vietnam War. Wayne had worked for Kaiser for ten years, Katalistic for ten years, and had retired as the Director of Plant Maintenance at Coastal Harbor. He had served as a Trustee at First Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah and had served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of the Islands. He also has served as a Missionary in the Philippines. Wayne enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Faye Anthony of Glennville; daughter, Jennifer Marie (Steven Craig) Anthony-Blitch of Glennville; sister, Linda Lee of Bulloch County; grandchildren, Zachary Wayne Anthony and Taylor Marie Blitch both of Glennville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Burke officiating. Honors will be rendered by the US Navy and the Patriot Guard.
