Wesley Edward Williams, 78, of Savannah Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 10th 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
Wesley Williams was born on January 28th, 1946 to parents Wesley Williams Senior and Dorothy Barnard, but he was raised by his wonderful grandmother Naomi Butler.
He attended Moses Jackson Elementary School and then later graduated from Tompkins High School in 1964. He went on to study architecture at City College of New York, School of Architecture and Environmental Studies.
After graduating from college he began his career in architecture then later married and started a family. He then transitioned into teaching until he retired.
He worked as an architectural designer for Walt Disney World (Buena Vista Fl) Lockwood Green Engineers (Buena Vista Fl) Simons Eastern Consultants Inc. Systems (Atlanta Georgia) Schneider Services International Design Engineering Division Arnold Air Force Station (TN) City of New York Department of Transportation - Bureau of HWY Operations Urban design section, and many other places.
He worked as a teacher for the Fulton County Atlanta Public school system and Savannah Chatham County Public School system.
Wesley Williams was preceded by father Wesley Williams Senior, mother Dorothy Barnard McCoy, grandmother Naomi Butler, late wife Onelia B. Carrero, 2 sisters and 1 brother; Laura Holloway, Alethia Clift, and Johnny Williams.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Nohemi Manuel of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Weslyn Williams of Savannah, Georgia; 1 grandson; Zolan L. Manuel of Chattanooga, Tennessee - and one Godson; Augustus Wright of Woodbridge, Virginia.
8 sisters; Carolyn Yvonne Moore Clark of Hackensack, New Jersey. Myra Pope, Patricia Brown, Deborah Walser, Sandra Williams, Barbara Chisholm, Stephanie Johnson, and Claudia Wipple of Savannah, Georgia. 2 brothers; Bobby Williams of Savannah, Georgia and Deandre Irving of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He donated his body for science research and a private memorial will be held January 2025.
An extraordinary man that will truly be missed.
