Wilbert L. Watson

Mr. Wilbert Watson, age 63, passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021, at Candler Hospital in Savannah.  He was born on December 25, 1957, in Tattnall County to the late James Fate and Katherine Middleton.  Mr. Watson was skilled in the mechanical field.  As such, much of his career was devoted to keeping his community safely on the road.  For many years he was the trusted source for his talents as a mechanic.  Preceding Wilbert in death are his parents, his wife, Sharon Denise Watson; a son Anton Watson; a sister, Etwinda Wright; and a brother, Jimmy Lee Fate.

Left to cherish memories of a life well lived are his children, Keith (Tameka) Watson, Jr., Shiquanna Watson, Schollanda (Delwin) Martin, Timothy (Patrice) Kent, Francessa Hart, Stanley Hart, Willie (Sharon) Williams, Daryl (Renae) Clark, and Delour Clark; siblings, Brenda (Joe) Richardson, Cathalene (Hilton) Grant, Anna Marie Fate, Sharon Day, Diane Fate, Annette (Charvis) Stallworrth, Bennie Lee Coley, Johnny Lee Fate, Luther Fate, and Rosa Fate; a caretaker, Joyce Tootle Bacon; special friend, Linda Ford; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Friday September 3, 2021, at the chapel of Glennville Funeral Home from the hours of 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 4, 2021, at the chapel of Glennville Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ricky Arthur officiating.

Interment will take place on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope A.M.E. Church in Macon.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Futch, Earl Brown, James Rucker, III., Scotty Fate, and Anthony Wilkinson.
