William Ted Bacon

William Ted Bacon, age 74, known to his loved ones as Ted, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at his home in Glennville. He had lived in Glennville most of his life. Ted had a deep love for carpentry and spent his life pursuing this passion as self-employed carpenter.

Ted's journey in life was marked by a strong sense of duty and commitment to his country. He served as a United States Army Veteran and made tremendous sacrifices to protect the freedoms we hold dear. 

Beyond his professional achievements, Ted had a rich and fulfilling personal life. He found joy in simple pleasures and had an unwavering love for animals. Watching horse racing became one of his beloved pastimes, giving him excitement and moments of suspense. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey and Aletha Sikes Bacon and a brother, Larry Bacon.

Ted's memory will be cherished forever by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his children, Jeremy Bacon and Laura (Kenny) Rahn, all residing in Glennville. His siblings Wanda Futch of Ludowici, Lynn (Wayne) Sapp, and Judy (David) Waters all of Claxton; sister in law, Jane Bacon of Statesboro; grandchildren: Gavin Grandstaff, Gunner Grandstaff, Brittany Rahn, and Katelyn Rahn; great-grandchildren Braylee and Bentley Rahn, numerous nieces and nephews
