William Jerry Cowan, age 75 passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence. Born in Mulberry Arkansas. Jerry was the owner and auctioneer at the Crawford County Auction until retiring in 1998 . He was Lieutenant for the Kibler AR, Police Department and retired in 2012. He was an ordained minister with a wonderful online ministry. His hobbies included fishing , wood working, singing and playing guitar. Jerry was an amazing son, brother, friend, officer, husband, father and Grandfather. He was humble, kind and treated everyone with respect.
Preceded in death by his wife Rose Cowan, his parents William Columbus Cowan and Leu Edna Mildred Williams Brothers - Toy Cowan, Billy Cowan, Vernon Cowan & Charles Cowan, Sisters - Margaret Cowan Ward, Margie Cowan Huggins, Survived by his children & step children. Darryl Cowan (wife Shannon) of Tulsa OK, Brenda Pilgrim (husband Brent Pilgrim) of Bentonville AR, William Cowan (wife Catherine) of Rockville IN, Larry Cowan (wife Sonya) of Columbus IN, Michael Shigetomi (wife Debra) of Glennville , GA, Julia Jones ( husband James) of Fort Smith AR, Tania Barham (husband Kevin) of Charleston AR. Numerous nieces, nephews & grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday Feb 2 nd 10am , City of Refuge Church , 5819 Ferguson Street, Fort Smith AR
Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Cowan family.
