Reidsville,
William E. “Bill” Smith, age 70, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Living Care Hospice. The Camden, Arkansas native had lived in Reidsville for the past thirty years. Mr. Bill was an US Air Force Veteran and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections after serving nineteen years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Alice Smith; brother, Robert Smith
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Melonie A. Smith of Reidsville; Sons, Anthony (Carol) Smith of Plano, TX; Jack Smith of Screven; George Lane (Betty) Fairchild of Kathleen: Daughters; Victoria (Jason) Carter of Reidsville and Rebecca (Duane) Smith of Reidsville. Three sister in laws, Linda Smith of Jackson, MS., Josie Pritchard of Reidsville, and Gloria Howard of Kathleen; his father-in-law Orville Fairchild of Kathleen; fourteen grandchildren; Walter Smith; Amber and A.J. Smith; Angela, Russell, and Orville Fairchild; Dane, Bryanne, Bryant and Karlee Carter; Drew, Ammiee, Hunter, and Emma Smith. Amber is expecting his first great-grandchild in December.
Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday July 9, 2014 from the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel Of Bradley B. Anderson and Funeral Home and Crematory with the Reverend David Moxley and Reverend Jimmy Revell officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville.
