William Frederick Toole, age 65 passed away on December 21, 2023 at his home. He was born on December 10, 1958 in Vidalia and was reared in Toombs County. He lived many years in Virginia Beach before moving to Athens in 2000. William recently moved to Collins to be near his family and friends.
Fred received his education at Lyons High School and graduated in 1977. He went on to serve in the US Navy for 23 years before retiring honorably. His dedication to his military service was unparalleled, as he selflessly served his country with distinction and integrity.
Beyond his military career, Fred had a variety of interests and hobbies. He found solace and fulfillment in hunting and fishing, where he could connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the great outdoors. These activities allowed him to create cherished memories with friends and family.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, William Floyd Toole and Daisy Mae Darden Toole, as well as his son, Johnny Clay Ryals.
He is survived by his loving daughter Brandi and son-in-law Wesley Waller of Watkinsville; his sister Jan and brother-in-law David Durrence of Reidsville; grandchildren, Wilkes Clayton Waller, Tiegen Annsley Waller, Bo Allen Ryals, Anna MaClay Ryals McNure, and Kirsten Lea Ryals
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Mr. Bo Ryals and Mr. Walter Driggers officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Driggers, Dan Eason, Wayne Smith, Terry Rowe, Tim Vaughn, Doug Jackson and Justin Powell
