William H.G. “Bill” Williams of Cobbtown
July 24, 1940 – May 21, 2018
On May 21, 2018, Bill stepped out to begin his first 10,000 years. He was met by his parents W.C. and Una Mae, his brothers, George, Roy Lee and Brannon and his sister Betty Jean. Bill worked for Red Top Dairy for many years, going on to work in both agriculture and recycling after Red Top closed.
There are so many things that could be said to describe Bill, but not enough time or space, so to sum him up in 4 words, he was stubborn, ornery, gentle and loving and he will be greatly missed.
He leaves a large family behind to celebrate his life, beginning with the largest part of his heart and the one he would move any mountain for, his wife JoAnn. Four sons, Bobby Joe, Billy (Tina), Greg (Sharon), and Joe (April) Bacher, one daughter, Amanda (Robert) Amerson, as well as 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His sisters, Norma Jean (James) Fannin and Virginia Caldwell and a host of nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 24, 5:00pm-7pm at Buxton and Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home with graveside services on Friday, May 25, at 10am at Evergreen Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Bro. Nick Hopkins and James Fannin. Pallbearers are his grandsons, James Cook, Cody, Tyler, and Christian Williams and his grandson’s-in-law, Justin Stanfield and Brandon Ray.
Low Country Cremation & Burial is serving the Williams Family.
