Douglasville, GA
Willie George Boyd, Sr., “Pop”, age 76, of entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. The native of Ashmond, GA was born on January 1, 1944 to Ms. Viola Smith and George Turner. During his formative years, he moved with his mother Ms. Viola Smith to Reidsville where she and the man he knew as his father, Mr. Sunny Boy Boyd, raised him. Early in his adulthood, he met the love of his life and entered into the holy bonds of matrimony with Mrs. Zola Boyd. The two were wed for over 52 years. Clearly a man devoted to his family, he did not mind hard work to support them. His vocation for over 50 years was in the construction trade, and included being the owner of Boyd’s Concrete Cutting from 1993-2010. In his free time he loved to work on cars. Willie is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Willie Boyd, Jr., a brother, Little Richard Boyd, and a sister, Janie Smith. He was loved by many and he loved many; he will be deeply missed
