CRESCENT
On March 25, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., Willie Charles Coley, Jr. “Duke” passed away. Our Heavenly Father saw that he was getting weary, so He did what He thought was best. He came and stood beside him and whispered, “Come Home and Rest”.
Willie Charles Coley “Duke” was born September 7, 1951, to the late Willie Charles Coley, Sr., and Mary Coley, two sisters preceded him in death, Cynthia Coley, Janie Lou Coley; one brother, Jimmie Lee Coley. Duke lived in Hawkinsville, Georgia for a number of years until he was a young adult. He attended Georgia Southern University as a young adult. He worked a number of jobs in Hawkinsville, Georgia until becoming employed with TIC Incorporation which brought him to Crescent, Georgia. In the middle 80’s, Willie Charles Coley “Duke” was a well-known loving and caring person who will be greatly missed.
Duke leaves to cherish his loving memories, his step-mother, Mildred M. Coley; wife, Melinda Coley and only son, Alfie Brown (Deshantia) from Tallahassee, FL; three step-daughters, Tina Thomas, Trina Washington (Donald), Crystal Thomas and one adopted daughter, Tiffany Monroe; three sisters, Gloria Jean Woolfolk (John), Mary Ann (Ronnie Boy) Coley, and Mosell Perry (Mike); three brothers, Johnnie Fordham (Debra) of Macon, GA, James Fordham (Joessatta) of Atlanta, GA, Arthur Lee Fordham of Hawkinsville, GA; sixteen grandchildren, one special grandchild which he raised, Doniesha T. Moore, along with two other adopted grandchildren, Chelsea A. Logan and Julianna R. Logan; fourteen great-grandchildren; two nieces, Mae Will Coley (Pumpkin), Denise Coley Mallino (Dee), along with a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends in sorrow.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 1103 Smith St., Crescent, GA. Graveside services an interment will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Mt. Aire Baptist Church Cemetery in Hawkinsville, GA.
