On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the angels welcomed the spirit of Willie Alexander Lawson into eternal peace.
Willie was born in Hancock County, Georgia, to the late John Henry Sr. and Letha Mae Lawson. At a young age, the family moved to Tattnall County where he would attend school. Following his graduation, he would go on to dedicate over 30 years of service to the Tattnall County Board of Education as a bus driver, a role he took great pride in. In addition to his commitment to the community, Willie was also a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating the 20th Century Night Club for several years.
A man that believed in the redeeming power of the Lord, Willie was a faithful member of St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church, where he found joy in fellowship and worship. Known to many, loved by all, and cherished beyond measure, Willie leaves behind a lasting legacy of dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his parents; five children: Ann Lawson, Vicky Lawson, Carl Lawson, Jewel Guest, and Michael Williams, as well as his two brothers, John Henry Lawson and Melvin Lawson.
