Wylene Belvia Millsaps Pearson, 78, went on to glory, Monday May 27, early in the morning at Camelia Health & Rehabilitation. She was surrounded by love.

She was the youngest daughter of Rev. Wallace James Millsaps and Irene Harkins Millsaps. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her sisters Joyce Millsaps Bryson and Jewel Millsaps Wade.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years: Larry D. Pearson; Children: Tammy Pearson Hair, Larry D. Pearson, Jr., Nelda Pearson Collier; two siblings: Clara Millsaps Stafford and Ellis Millsaps;Grandchildren: Joshua and Benjamin Hair, Victoria and Davis Pearson, Heath and Caleb Pate; Step-Grandchildren: Stephen Rhine, John and Matthew Collier; Great-Grandchildren:  Adelaide and Emma Drew Dickerson, Loren Rhine, Anthony, Ashton, and Aiken Collier.

She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as distant relatives whose lives she has remained a part of over the years. Along with her family she participated in the Jacks River Church Reunion held annually to honor the ancestors who worshipped and attended school in the Cahutta Mountain Preserve area in North Ga.  She was also a part of the Atco Baptist Church Reunion which is having its 60th Reunion this year in Cartersville, Ga.

As a child she sang with her family, on her Father’s radio  ministry, as well as her school trio. In 1958-59 the trio won state championship for Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Ga. and performed on the TV Show Stars of Tomorrow in Atlanta, Ga. She attended Truett-McConnell in Cleveland, Ga where she met Larry. On June 4, 1960 she became Wylene Pearson. In 1970 she became a Preacher’s wife and served as pastor’s wife, music minister, youth minister, and soloist in 12 different churches in Louisiana, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.. She did all of that while raising three children and working full-time as a bookkeeper and office manager in order to help her husband provide for their children.

At various times in their marriage they took in other young people in need of a roof and Godly parenting. They became like family and join the family in mourning our loss.
