Robert Darrell Watson "Papa", age 83 passed away Friday, April 21. 2023 at Griffin House Assisted Living. He was born in Hampton, Virginia on May 16, 1939 to Frank and Opal Buckland Watson. He had previously lived in Savannah for over 50 years and moved to Glennville 1 1/12 years ago. He was a commercial fisherman by trade and  his hobby was a leathermaster. He enjoyed gambling and traveling to many festivals and fairs displaying and selling his leather goods that he had personally hand crafted with love. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Helen Watson; son, Randall Dale Watson; brothers, Thomas Watson and Billy Watson.

He is survived by his children, Robert Watson, Jr. of Levy, South Carolina and Michelle Watson of Glennville; sisters, Myrna Alderman and Shirlee Hardee both of Gloucester, Virginia, Ann Martin of Labelle, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy) McMullen, Christopher (Jennifer) Watson, Laura (Sheldon) Brooks, Brittany (Jeffrey) Young, Emily LeRoy and Taylor Dye; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Private services will be held.
